RENEW - Call for Papers
The RENEW’26 (Resilient and ENergy-Efficient netWorks) workshop invites high-quality research contributions at the intersection of network sustainability, energy efficiency, and network resilience. As modern networks evolve into highly softwarized, virtualized, and AI-driven infrastructures, a fundamental shift is required: energy efficiency and resilience must be co-designed rather than treated as independent objectives. RENEW’26 provides a dedicated forum for researchers and practitioners investigating innovative approaches that enable networks to operate sustainably while remaining robust against faults, attacks, and resource constraints.
The workshop will be co-located with IEEE WoWMoM 2026, a premier venue on wireless, mobile, and ubiquitous networking.
We welcome original contributions, position papers, and experimental studies on (but not limited to):
- Energy-aware communication protocols
- Carbon-aware routing, service placement, and orchestration
- Energy-adaptive virtual network functions (VNFs)
- Sustainable architectures for 5G/6G and IoT
- Lifecycle carbon impact analysis and eco-metrics for networks
- Fault tolerance in softwarized networks (SDN, NFV, cloud-native)
- Resilience to hardware/software failures and dynamic resource variability
- Robustness under adversarial conditions, denial-of-service, or anomalies
- Recovery and self-healing mechanisms in distributed systems
- Predictive energy management using AI/ML
- AI-assisted orchestration for balancing performance, resilience, and energy use
- Intelligent anomaly detection and proactive failure prediction
- ML-driven adaptive resource allocation under energy constraints
- Secure and sustainable IoT/edge/cloud computing
- Emulation/virtualization environments, datasets, and benchmarks
- Regulatory trends and incentives for sustainable networking
- Cost–benefit analysis of energy-efficient and resilient designs
